Who are we?

The Gathering Church is proud to host The Ashe Bible Training Institute, a pastor-led training program for Christian men and women who want to grow in their knowledge and application of God’s Word. We offer over 500 hours of course instruction in the areas of Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Systematic Theology, Church History, Hermeneutics, Personal Spiritual life and more.

What is being offered this semester?  

New Seminar Format

Summary: Due to a lack of interest this semester, and busy schedules for many, we have decided to go to a once-a-month seminar format. This will include light refreshments, a 15-20 min. TED type talk, with round table discussion and prayer to follow. Currently we are looking at @ 10am 3rd Thursdays of the month and the following topics are planned:

January 18- Community within our Churches: Do we have it? How can we see our congregations truly obey and fulfill the “one another” passages of scripture?

February 15- Ministry and Money: Are we good stewards of God’s resources? How can we leverage what God has entrusted to our churches for the greatest Gospel impact?

March 21 – Cooperation in Gospel Ministry: Ever heard: “So many churches on every corner!” in this seminar we will discuss the positives and negatives of church culture in Ashe County and how we can work together to bring glory to God locally and globally.

April 19th – Shepherding: We are called sheep by our Lord. He intends for us to be shepherded, but by whom? How are we to pastor our people and create a culture of care for eachother in our congregations, including our pastors.

May 17th – Church Discipline – What is it? Does that exist in churches? How is it to be practiced and how can churches in the area serve eathother in practical ways in caring for Christians well.

What does it cost?

ABTI will be hosting these seminars for free, however we would appreciate an RSVP to get head counts for food. If you would like to donate towards its expenses we welcome partnerships in this endeavor. You can do so on our giving page.

The cost of classes is $80 for returning students and $100 for new students (includes textbooks).
